Role Description The Western Vocalist will deliver engaging, high-quality vocal lessons to school students, focusing on Western vocal techniques, performance skills, and musical expression. This full-time, on-site role in Bhubaneswar involves planning and conducting classes, preparing lesson materials aligned with Torrins’ curriculum, and guiding students through individual and group vocal activities. The vocalist will collaborate with other music instructors for ensemble performances, events, and choral activities, while maintaining classroom discipline and a positive learning environment. Daily responsibilities also include assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, participating in rehearsals and school concerts, and contributing to continuous improvement of the vocal program. The role requires active participation in internal training sessions and alignment with Torrins’ values of creativity, collaboration, and student-centric teaching.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Music and Western Vocal Singing, with the ability to teach diverse genres and techniques.
Experience with Choral singing and vocal ensemble work, including group rehearsals and performances.
Exposure to Dance or stage movement that supports confident performance and student engagement.
Basic Songwriting or creative music-making skills to help students explore original compositions and improvisation.
Prior experience as a vocalist, music educator, or performer, preferably with school-age learners.
Ability to communicate clearly, motivate students, and manage a classroom in a structured, encouraging manner.
Willingness to work on-site in Bhubaneswar and participate in school events, concerts, and collaborative projects.
Formal training in music or vocals (certifications, workshops, or a degree/diploma in music) is an advantage.
