Role Description This full-time remote IT Support Specialist role is responsible for providing technical assistance to internal team members and possibly external users through various communication channels, such as phone, email, and chat. The specialist will handle daily help desk requests, diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to desktop computers, software applications, peripherals, and network connectivity. The role includes documenting support tickets, tracking resolutions, and escalating complex problems to higher-level technical teams when necessary. The IT Support Specialist will install and configure hardware and software, perform routine maintenance, and ensure systems comply with company standards and security policies. Collaboration with other IT staff, clear communication, and a customer-focused approach are essential to support smooth technology operations across the organization.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Technical Support and Help Desk Support skills to assist users efficiently and professionally.
Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, resolve, and prevent recurring technical issues.
Candidates should possess hands-on experience with Desktop Computers, including hardware, operating systems, and common business applications.
Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Information Technology principles, including networks, security basics, and system administration.
Additional beneficial qualifications include excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, strong organizational and documentation abilities, and experience with ticketing systems and ITIL-based processes.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, along with relevant industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) is preferred.
