Reporting to the VP, Head of Practice Management, the Senior Consultant, Advisor Development is responsible for delivering sophisticated consulting engagements that help financial advisors strengthen business performance, team effectiveness, growth strategies, and succession outcomes.
This role partners with some of CI's most complex advisory teams, facilitating in-depth business discussions, assessments, strategic planning sessions, and leadership workshops. The Senior Consultant serves as a trusted advisor to financial professionals, provides industry thought leadership on practice management issues, and delivers customized solutions that support advisor growth while strengthening CI's relationships across key distribution channels.
The overall objective of this role is to drive business growth and support CI's sales goals through the delivery of high-value consulting engagements, educational programs, and strategic advisor development initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Strategic Consulting & Advisor Engagement
Act as a senior business consultant to financial advisors and advisory teams on business growth, organizational structure, team effectiveness, capacity, succession planning, leadership, client experience, operational excellence and more.
Lead complex consulting engagements involving business assessments, discovery meetings, team workshops, and strategic planning sessions.
Develop customized recommendations and implementation plans that help advisors achieve business objectives.
Build strong relationships with key advisors, dealer partners, and internal stakeholders.
Thought Leadership & Practice Management Expertise
Apply advanced practice management expertise and industry knowledge to meet the needs of advisors, channel partners, and internal clients.
Research evolving practice management trends and identify opportunities to enhance advisor support.
Act as a subject matter expert on advisor business management, industry trends, and leading practices.
Contribute ideas for new consulting services, advisor resources, and educational initiatives.
Content Development & Presentation Delivery
Design and deliver educational presentations, workshops, conference sessions, and strategic offsites for advisors and channel partners.
Develop advisor-facing resources, tools, and thought leadership content that support advisor business growth.
Represent Practice Management at conferences, dealer events, roadshows, and internal training sessions.
Deliver dynamic presentations to audiences ranging from small advisor teams to large conference groups.
Strategic Projects
Support CI's growth strategy through the identification and development of innovative advisor initiatives.
Partner with Sales, National Accounts, and Marketing to strengthen advisor engagement and maximize the impact of Practice Management programs.
Provide field insights that inform future content, consulting offerings, and business strategy.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
8+ years of financial services experience with significant exposure to advisory businesses.
Demonstrated experience consulting to financial advisors or business owners.
Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
Strong understanding of advisor business models, succession planning, organizational design, team development, and business growth strategies.
Ability to lead complex business discussions and influence senior stakeholders.
Proven ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with high-performing advisors.
Coaching certification, consulting training, adult education training, or facilitation credentials are considered assets.
Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and problem-solving ability.
This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $93,000 to $143,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program. In addition, The Company offers a variety of benefits to eligible employees, including health insurance coverage, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plans, paid leave programs, education-related programs, paid holidays and vacation time, and many others. Many of these benefits are subsidized or fully paid for by the company.
This role follows our in office work model and requires employees to be onsite four days per week to support collaboration and business needs.
