About the role:
The Cybersecurity Culture & Awareness Manager plays a key role in delivering engaging, high-quality cybersecurity awareness and culture programmes for Mindshift clients.
This role suits someone with hands-on experience in cybersecurity awareness or culture programme delivery, who understands both the "why" behind security behaviours and the practicalities of running programmes at scale. This role combines content creation, customer relationship management, and campaign coordination.
Key skills:
Ability to translate technical security topics into engaging content for executives and general staff.
Solid working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals with the ability to translate these into practical awareness content.
Experience designing, building, or managing cybersecurity awareness or culture programmes, ideally within large or complex organisations, ranging from campaign-level initiatives through to multi-year programme roadmaps.
A working understanding of security behaviour change principles and human risk management approaches (e.g. behavioural science models, nudge theory or similar), and how these apply to designing content and campaigns that actually shift behaviour rather than just build awareness.
Familiarity with relevant frameworks or standards (e.g. NIST, ISO 27001 awareness requirements, or recognised security culture maturity models) is a plus.
A strong writer and creative thinker, able to communicate complex concepts in a simple, engaging, and human way.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly.
Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders, with confidence leading and contributing to meetings.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, clients, and deadlines effectively.
Ability to develop creative, relevant awareness concepts that resonate with different audiences.
Comfortable working independently with minimal direction, while maintaining a high standard of output.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with designers.
A proactive mindset and genuine interest in staying current with cybersecurity trends and emerging awareness (human risk management) approaches.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in one of the following disciplines, or equivalent experience:
Cybersecurity
Information Technology
Information Security
Communications
Journalism
Education or Instructional Design
Experience:
1 to 3 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
Cybersecurity awareness and training
Technical writing
Content creation
Learning and development (L&D)
Internal communication
