Organization Description: 336 Veterans Charity Golf is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting Veterans and First Responders through golf-related charitable events and community initiatives. Based in New Market, TN, the organization raises funds and builds awareness through charitable golf events and veteran- and first-responder-focused programs, while fostering camaraderie, wellness, and mentorship among participants. Through tournaments, fundraising activities, and partnerships with local and regional stakeholders, 336 Veterans Charity Golf seeks to create meaningful impact for veterans, first responders, and their families. Role Description: The Board Member role at 336 Veterans Charity Golf is a volunteer post that provides guidance, oversight, and advice. Board Members provide strategic oversight, help shape organizational priorities, and ensure the charity's mission and values are reflected in all activities. Responsibilities may include preparing for and attending board meetings, reviewing organizational performance, participating in committee work, and contributing to governance policies. Board Members are expected to actively support fundraising initiatives, cultivate relationships with donors and partners, and serve as ambassadors for the organization within the community. The role also involves collaborating with other board members and leadership to guide budgeting decisions, assess program effectiveness, and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in nonprofit governance, board service, or leadership roles within mission-driven organizations.
Deep belief in our mission; the veterans and first responders causes are of the utmost importance.
Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities, with capacity to evaluate programs, budgets, and long-term plans.
Experience in fundraising, donor relations, sponsorship development, or community outreach to support organizational growth.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work constructively with diverse stakeholders.
Understanding of financial oversight, basic budgeting principles, and stewardship of organizational resources.
Commitment to veteran support and alignment with the mission and values of 336 Veterans Charity Golf.
Ability to attend regular board meetings, events, and community activities is a plus.
Prior involvement in golf-related events, hospitality, or sports charities is beneficial but not required.
Prior military service or ties to veterans and/or first responders is highly desirable.
