Job Description:
HPE is seeking a Communications Manager, Business Impact Storytelling & Programs. This is a hybrid role to be based in our Houston, TX / San Jose, CA / Sunnyvale, CA office

With more than 100 communicators across the globe, we advocate for HPE’s corporate strategy, business innovation, and thought leadership. We're looking for an experienced communications leader to help team members better understand HPE’s business, products, innovation agenda, customer impact, and technology heritage while advancing strategic initiatives that strengthen engagement, pride, and business alignment.
How you’ll make your mark:
As a member of the Team Member Communications team, you will serve as a strategic communications advisor and lead key Business, Product, and Innovation communication programs that reach team members across the company. You will develop multi-quarter communication strategies that drive integrated storytelling to help team members understand HPE’s innovation, portfolio strategy, customer success, and business priorities. You will lead some of our most visible communications programs, including global industry event communications, heritage and archives initiatives, sustainability programs, and business impact storytelling.
In this role, you will:
Consult, build, and lead communication strategies and storytelling programs that increase internal understanding of HPE’s business priorities, innovation agenda, products, customer impact, sustainability efforts, and team member achievements.
Create high-quality communication deliverables and content—including articles, videos, presentations, executive talking points, leadership messaging, and strategic communication plans—and publish them through our communication channels.
Serve as a trusted communications consultant and advisor to business leaders and stakeholders, providing strategic counsel on messaging, audience engagement, storytelling, and communication planning.
Own and evolve the HPE Archives communications program, including annual planning, expenditure oversight, stakeholder management, storytelling strategy, program governance, milestone campaigns, and measurement.
Establish communication frameworks, processes, and best practices that improve team effectiveness and stakeholder experiences.
Mentor and provide guidance to communications team members while helping elevate communication quality, strategic thinking, and program execution across the team.
Partner with communicators across Global Communications to ensure business priorities and innovation narratives are consistently reflected across channels and audiences.
Leverage data, insights, and measurement to continuously improve communication effectiveness, engagement, and business outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
Exceptional writing, editing, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
Ability to develop communication strategies that influence outcomes and support business priorities.
Strong communications consulting and stakeholder management capabilities.
Proven ability to lead complex, multi-stakeholder projects with independence and accountability.
Consultative mindset, strong listening skills, and comfort asking questions to build understanding and strengthen outcomes.
Creative thinking and willingness to experiment with new communication tactics, channels, and formats.
Experience building trusted relationships with leaders and cross-functional partners.
Strong program management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
High level of professionalism, judgment, integrity, and discretion.
Flexibility, adaptability, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities.
Qualifications:
BA or BS in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
7+ years of experience in employee communications, executive communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, or related communications disciplines.
Demonstrated experience developing and leading communications strategies for business, technology, innovation, executive, or transformation initiatives.
Strong understanding of technology industry trends and communications best practices preferred.
Proficient command of English (US) language including excellent grammar, composition, and proofreading skills.
A portfolio of work available for review is preferred.
