Project Coordinator

Role:
As our new Project Coordinator, Ecology & Biodiversity, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct environmental and ecological research and desktop analysis, including species-at-risk assessments, ecological reviews, site investigations, and analysis of environmental information to support regulatory and project requirements.
• Conduct environmental auditing field work in remote settings, including night shift work
• Establish relationship with Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN), daily communication with TWN coordinator for logistic coordination and open dialogue about environmental concerns
• Assist with onboarding of new field staff
• Support budget tracking, invoicing, project forecasting, and project administration activities
• Provide logistical support for field programs, including travel coordination, scheduling, subcontractor management, and health and safety documentation
• Support the development, implementation, and administration of environmental programs, including long-term aquatic effects monitoring and environmental management activities across multidisciplinary projects.
• Prepare, review, and provide quality control for environmental and technical reports, environmental management plans, permit applications, and other regulatory deliverables.
• Provide environmental and regulatory consultation and advice to clients, project teams, regulators, Indigenous Nations, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding environmental concerns, regulatory requirements, and project activities.
• Coordinate and administer environmental regulatory and permitting requirements, including tracking permits under federal and provincial legislation such as the Fisheries Act, DFO requirements, and the Wildlife Act.
• Monitor and communicate environmental findings and concerns, including compiling environmental monitoring information, photologs, and reports and facilitating the timely exchange of environmental information among project stakeholders.

Qualification:
• Degree or diploma in environmental sciences, natural resources, project management, or a related discipline
• Minimum two years of experience in environmental related project coordination in the consulting industry with demonstrated ability to coordinate complex, multidisciplinary projects involving numerous internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated in-depth understanding of environmental permitting and regulatory processes for major infrastructure projects
• Eligible for Biologist in Training (BIT) designation
• Proficiency with the systems Deltek VantagePoint, Sustain, Workday, The POD, Cheqroom, EQuIS, ARCGIS Pro, FieldMaps, Survey 123, Microsoft 365 applications, Teams, and SharePoint
• All-terrain vehicle (ATV) certification is considered an asset
• Excellent organizational, communication, and document management skills
• Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
