The Role:
Entegris is currently seeking a Process Development Engineer to join our Scale-up and Manufacturing Readiness team. This position will be based in our Toronto facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, scaling, and troubleshooting chemical manufacturing processes from laboratory through pilot and manufacturing scales. This role applies chemical engineering principles to process development, equipment design, experimental planning, data analysis, and technology transfer to manufacturing. The engineer will work closely with R&D, Operations, EHS, and business teams to accelerate the commercialization of new products and processes.
What You’ll Do:
Design and execute experiments to develop and optimize chemical processes.
Develop process understanding through data analysis and engineering fundamentals.
Lead scale-up activities from laboratory to pilot and manufacturing environments.
Identify process risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Troubleshoot process issues during development and production campaigns.
Support process characterization and process robustness studies.
Use modelling software e.g. ASPEN, Visimix, etc. to simulate processes
Support technology transfer into manufacturing.
Develop control strategies and operating windows.
Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass balances, and energy balances.
Define equipment requirements and participate in equipment selection.
Support commissioning, qualification, and startup of new process equipment.
Evaluate automation, control strategies, and process improvements.
What We Seek:
Bachelors or Masters in Chemical Engineering.
3-8+ years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing.
Experience with pilot plant operations and chemical processing equipment.
Strong data analysis, modelling and problem-solving skills.
Experience with process safety methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation: $85,000- $105,000 CAD range with actual pay based on candidate experience

Please note, this role is for an existing vacancy with an expected compensation range of $85,000- $105,000 CAD.
