Plant 78 Twisting | Inspector Operator Shift C
Position Overview
Position Objective: To provide audits and testing within the Twisting Department; to
Ensure first quality product.
Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
1. Comply with Procedures found in SMS manual.
2. Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
3. Comply with corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy.
4. Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
6. Be in pre-shift meeting area ten (10) minutes before your scheduled shift for shift meeting.
7. Inspect packages for defects.
8. Doff twisted packages.
9. Perform Spindle Speed Strobe Check.
10. Comply with troubleshooting checklist for positional breakouts per the procedure.
11. Perform pack out procedure for non-heatset yarn, per Work Instructions.
12. Perform Twist Checks.
13. Perform Machine Audits.
14. Adhere to all Housekeeping assignments.
15. Perform yarn changes as needed per Supervisor.
16. Ensure that all patrols are 1st Quality patrols.
17. Perform Yarn inspection procedure to packages placed at the Quality Checker desk.
18. Label creel yarn buggies as needed for a changeover.
19. Tail Build, Thread Path and Buggy Audits.
20. Inspect the twisted packages on the nonconformance buggy that come from Heatset.
21. Identify non-conforming Extrusion packages and return to Extrusion each shift.
22. Report any mechanical problems by flagging the position.
23. Follow reclaim prevention procedures.
24. Follow identification procedures established.
25. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Non-Essential Duties (considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
1. Assist other Twisting personnel as needed.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to sit, stand or walk for eight (8) to twelve (12) hours.
2. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, lift, carry and reach occasionally.
3. Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently.
4. Ability to distinguish between colors.
Other Requirements:
1. Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
2. Actively participate in the PRIDE and FIBER Processes.
3. Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required.
4. Plant 78 is a tobacco-free facility.
Training Requirements:
1. Must complete the orientation training session.
2. Must complete job requirements training as defined in the Training Program Manual.
3. Must complete PRIDE Training.
4. Must complete FIBER Training
5. Must complete Management System Training.
6. Must complete MSDS/Chemical Right To Know Training.
Tools, Equipment, & Material Requirements:
1. Responsible for safety equipment issued including safety glasses and earplugs.
2. Responsible for materials and supplies issued.
3. Responsible for equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks.
4. Follow all applicable environmental efforts and procedures for proper disposal of used materials.
Safety & Security Requirements:
1. Must maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
2. Must report any unsafe conditions to supervision.
3. Must report all accidents, no matter how slight, to supervision immediately.
4. Must wear personal protective equipment at all times while in the designated areas.
5. Must comply with all plant and department safety rules and regulations.
Work Shift
12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
