Position Summary
The Vocal Ensemble Assistant Director supports the Director in the musical instruction, rehearsal, performance, and administration of the vocal ensemble program. This position provides additional musical leadership and student support while assisting with the day-to-day operations of the ensemble and representing the program at performances, competitions, festivals, and other off-campus events.
Responsibilities:
Providing extra support to Director and feedback to students in rehearsals
Leading rehearsals when Director is absent
Running small group sectionals
Teaching singers parts to new arrangements
Supervising school trips (e.g. competition, festivals, off-campus performances, etc.)
Administrative duties (e.g. printing music, taking notes in student board meetings, relaying information to students, etc.)
Outreach to high school and college groups for potential networking events
Recommendations:
Bachelors degree in Performance or Education, or equivalent of two (2) years of professional experience
Prior experience directing and/or singing in a collegiate or semi-professional vocal ensemble
Arranging, self-recording, choreography, and/or sight-reading skills are a plus, but not required

As a Christian school, Pacifica students learn from faculty who live out their faith.
