JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Competitive Intelligence Lead - US Market is responsible for driving actionable competitive intelligence across the U.S. telecommunications landscape (broadband, fiber networks, Fixed Wireless Access/FWA, video, and mobile). Reporting to the Director of Customer and Market Insights, this role proactively monitors, analyzes, and synthesizes competitor strategies, quarterly earnings reports, promotional offers, network expansion tactics, and product developments.
Serving as a key strategic advisor to executive leadership, marketing, product, and sales teams, the CI Lead evaluates the strategic context behind competitor moves to deliver high-impact insights and actionable recommendations that defend market share and drive strategic growth.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Track, analyze, and contextualize U.S. competitor activities including earnings reports, network deployments (fiber overbuilds, FWA expansions), offer structures, pricing, and strategic promotional tactics.
Deliver monthly and quarterly competitive benchmarking reports, executive decks, and ad-hoc intelligence briefings for senior leadership.
Partner regularly with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Customer Experience teams to translate competitive insights into actionable commercial strategies and product positioning.
Build, automate, and maintain a centralized Competitive Intelligence repository and insight tools for enterprise-wide access.
Routinely develop new solutions leveraging AI that improve speed-to-insight.
Monitor market trends, earnings calls, regional competitor topographies, and emerging technologies to provide strategic context, evaluating key competitor moves to identify market threats and growth opportunities.
Provide competitive support for key commercial initiatives, product launches, and regional expansion projects.
REQUIREMENTS
ACADEMIC TRAINING
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Data Analytics, Telecommunications, or a related discipline.
Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
5–7+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, strategic market analysis, ideally within the Telecommunications, Broadband, or Cable industries.
Solid understanding of the U.S. telecom market landscape, competitor offers, pricing models, and network technologies (Fiber, FWA, HFC).
Proven track record of delivering executive-level presentations and translating data into strategic business recommendations.
Experience building automated workflows with AI.
SPECIFIC SKILLS
Strong business acumen and deep knowledge of U.S. telecommunications and broadband competitive dynamics.
Advanced strategic analysis and data synthesis skills with high attention to detail, including the ability to interpret financial/earnings reports and evaluate market positioning.
Excellent presentation and storyboarding skills (Google Slides/PowerPoint).
Strong cross-functional leadership, stakeholder management, and project management capabilities.
Proficiency with CI tools, market intelligence platforms, and data analytics tools.

For candidates whose primary place of work will be in Virginia, the expected salary range for this specific position is $77 800 – $116 800. For candidates whose primary place of work will be in Cleveland, OH, the expected salary range for this specific position is $85 600– $128 400.
