About the Role:
Remitly is building the wallet and card infrastructure needed to scale globally, and we're looking for a Head of Global Expansion to own this effort end-to-end. In this role, you will be accountable for the business outcomes of Remitly's global expansion, shaping the infrastructure build-out — including the integration between Mambu, Checkout.com (CKO), and Remitly's platform — and managing the roadmap that takes it to market. You'll architect the money movement rails that let customers get money in and out of their account, lead the CRM integration, and build out the fraud and compliance infrastructure required to responsibly launch in new markets. This is an opportunity to own the technical, product, and business foundation of a rapidly scaling global product, partnering closely with engineering to build infrastructure designed to last. You will work in a hybrid capacity from our Arlington, VA office.
You Will:
Own the global expansion effort end-to-end, accountable for business outcomes across each market launch.
Define and own the integration strategy between Mambu, CKO, and Remitly's platform, partnering with engineering to design scalable core banking and card infrastructure.
Build the money-in and money-out rails for the account, ensuring reliable, compliant movement of funds across markets.
Lead the integration between the product and Remitly's CRM systems, enabling servicing, support, and customer engagement teams.
Architect and build the fraud and risk infrastructure needed to support a global rollout, partnering with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to meet regulatory requirements in each market.
Own and manage the end-to-end global expansion roadmap, sequencing infrastructure build-out against market launch priorities.
Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and Operations to ensure infrastructure decisions support both near-term launches and long-term scale.
Communicate strategy, trade-offs, and progress clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, with direct accountability for expansion results.
You Have:
A track record of owning business outcomes for a product or expansion effort at scale, ideally within fintech or banking-as-a-service environments.
Direct experience integrating with core banking platforms (e.g., Mambu) and payment processors (e.g., Checkout.com), including designing money movement rails.
Deep understanding of fraud and compliance requirements for card and wallet products, including KYC/AML frameworks for global rollout.
Strong technical fluency, comfortable partnering closely with engineering on system design and architecture trade-offs.
Experience owning a roadmap and business outcomes across multiple markets or geographies, with a focus on scalability and compliance.
Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to define success metrics for infrastructure and expansion investments.
End-to-end ownership skills, with demonstrated ability to operate with autonomy on ambiguous, cross-functional, and highly technical problems.
10+ years of experience in product management, general management, or a related leadership role, specifically in payments, card, or banking infrastructure.
Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $176,000-$220,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
