Position Summary
To support the School Director in managing the before and after care program, ensuring that values are upheld and providing a safe and learning environment for the children. To provide support and direction to the teacher assistant.
Essential Functions:
Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents, and visitors.
Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating by the provided JMS - Celebree School curriculum; manages effective classroom management.
Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns promptly, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
Maintains open and effective communication with the team, parents, and the school community.
Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment are appropriately maintained.
Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the other team members to resolve them.
Maintains yearly certification requirements, including Continuing Education Credits.
Transportation for children's pick-up and drop-offs may be needed.
Medication Administration certification may be needed.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have an AA or bachelor’s degree (or credit equivalent) in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies, or a similar discipline, OR the 45 clock hours Child Growth and Development, birth through school-age, 45 clock hours Infant and Toddlers
The ideal candidate will have the 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, and an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training certificate.
