Contingent Role - PRN
Delivers comprehensive medical nutrition therapy to bariatric patients, assessing nutritional status and optimizing treatment outcomes through evidence-based interventions and ongoing monitoring.
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for bariatric patients and develop individualized nutrition care plans, including diet therapy, counseling, and specialized nutrition supplementation.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services (such as speech pathology and physical therapy) to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Monitor patient tolerance and treatment effectiveness of nutritional regimens, making timely recommendations for therapy adjustments to optimize clinical outcomes.
Educate the community on nutrition topics through public speaking engagements, media releases, publications, and other communication channels.
Identify and resolve nutrition care-related complaints and problems through proactive research and quality improvement initiatives.
Oversee meal monitoring activities, including patient intake documentation, diet compliance verification, and tray accuracy audits. Maintain food preparation area sanitation standards through scheduled and unannounced inspections.
CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED:
Dietitian/Nutritionist credentialed from the Commission on Dietetic Registration obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted - BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Educator specializing in Diabetes Management preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Bariatric experience preferred
