Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines, but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Job Summary
The Industrial Power Systems Division has an exciting opportunity for a Repair Technician II Post Assembly in Seguin, TX. As a repair technician supporting our Supplier Quality Operations, you will be responsible for analyzing the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) with our suppliers. You will provide critical support to areas such as cost and data analysis utilizing start-of-the-art financial, quality and inventory software and platforms. In this role, you will have a direct impact on improving supplier performance, lower total landed cost, increase customer satisfaction, and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
What you will do:
Collaborate with cross functional teams to positively impact COPQ and Supplier Quality related cost analysis
Develop and maintain effective COPQ documents and reports and provide information to the Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) and the Supplier Development Engineers (SDEs) to effectively perform cost analysis
Analyze complex business problems, identify root causes and propose proactive, data-driven solutions
Manage the facilities COPQ non-conforming materials (NCMs) and our Machine Shops’ Low-Value Added Activity (LVA)
Perform audits to ensure materials, processes, and tools conform to quality standards
Submit and assist with the resolution of CPS Continuous Improvement cards
Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions
Communicate and facilitate return of diesel engine heads and blocks to other Caterpillar facilities
Perform rework of supplier parts when prompted
Perform all other duties as assigned
What you will have:
Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting supply chain operations
Minimum of 1 year of repair experience in Power Generation
Intermediate experience with supply chain and/or logistics software (i.e. MAMM, Plex, Supplier Connect, Large Engines Invoice, ETQ)
Intermediate experience using Microsoft Applications and PowerBi

Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to perform repetitive operations
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range:
$26.75 - $34.75
