Yahoo is in the midst of a significant technology transformation. The Central Technology organization plays a critical role in how technology is built, operated and scaled across the company.
We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to lead complex, cross functional technology initiatives across Central Technology and Yahoo. Reporting directly to the VP of Enterprise Strategy & Corporate Technology, this role will take on ambiguous, high impact programs that span multiple organizations and require strong technical judgment, cross functional leadership and executive alignment.
Programs may include technology asset management and CMDB, engineering standards and governance, technology modernization, AI and automation, operational excellence and other strategic priorities across Yahoo.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead complex, cross functional technical programs from strategy through execution, establishing clear outcomes, ownership, roadmaps and decision points.
• Drive strategic initiatives including technology asset registry and CMDB capabilities, engineering standards and governance, and other cross cutting Central Technology priorities.
• Partner with engineering leaders, architects, security, infrastructure and business stakeholders to identify dependencies, risks and tradeoffs and drive decisions across teams.
• Establish lightweight governance and operating mechanisms that improve accountability, visibility and execution.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI and automation to improve program execution, engineering practices and operational effectiveness.
• Translate complex technical and organizational issues into clear recommendations and executive level communications.
• Define and promote technical program management best practices and mentor TPMs and other program leaders across the organization.
• Serve as a trusted partner to Central Technology leadership on high priority initiatives as priorities evolve.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience leading complex, cross functional technical programs or large scale technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to understand system architecture, technical dependencies and operational risks.
• Experience working directly with engineering and technical teams to drive plans, decisions and outcomes.
• Strong judgment and communication skills, with the ability to operate through ambiguity and influence technical and executive stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring others and establishing program management best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working across enterprise technology, infrastructure, security or centralized technology organizations.
• Experience with technology asset management, CMDB, engineering governance or similar cross organizational capabilities.
• Experience leveraging AI or automation to improve operational efficiency and execution.

The compensation for this position ranges from €94,500.00 - €157,500.00 /yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. Your package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions.
