I. Position Overview
The Executive Vice President (EVP) of Wealth Management is responsible for leading the company's overall wealth management business, including services for high-net-worth (HNW) and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients, investment management, asset allocation, wealth planning, client relations, and business growth.
This role involves working closely with the CEO, CIO, CFO, Chief Risk Officer, and other senior executives to formulate wealth management strategies, drive the growth of client assets, enhance service quality, and ensure the business aligns with the company’s risk management, compliance, and long-term operational goals.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in wealth management, investment management, private banking, asset management, or financial services, along with the ability to lead large teams, manage complex client relationships, and drive business growth.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Wealth Management Strategy
Formulate and execute medium- to long-term development strategies for the wealth management business.
Develop annual business plans based on market trends, client needs, and the company's overall strategy.
Optimize wealth management products, service models, and client coverage frameworks.
Identify new markets, client segments, and business growth opportunities.
2. High-Net-Worth Client Management
Establish a comprehensive wealth management service framework for HNW and UHNW clients.
Oversee client relationship management, asset allocation, wealth planning, and investment advisory services.
Maintain relationships with key and strategic clients.
Collaborate with premium clients to define long-term wealth management goals and investment strategies.
3. Investment and Asset Allocation
Collaborate with the CIO and investment teams to formulate asset allocation frameworks and investment solutions.
Oversee portfolio management, risk control, and investment performance.
Develop appropriate investment plans based on clients' risk tolerance, investment horizons, and wealth objectives.
Continuously evaluate allocation opportunities across equities, fixed income, private assets, real estate, and other investment categories.
4. Business Growth and Revenue Management
Develop plans for client acquisition, asset growth, and revenue expansion within the wealth management business.
Drive the growth of client assets under management (AUM) and expand client relationships.
Establish mechanisms for high-value client referrals, partnerships, and channel expansion.
Analyze business revenue, profit margins, client retention rates, and customer lifetime value.
5. Product and Service Management
Oversee the development of the wealth management product and service portfolio. Collaborate with investment, product, research, and operations teams to launch new wealth management solutions.
Optimize investment advisory, wealth planning, and asset allocation services based on client needs.
Evaluate third-party investment products and strategic partnership opportunities.
6. Risk Management and Compliance
Ensure the wealth management business complies with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and internal control requirements.
Collaborate with compliance, legal, and risk management teams to establish risk control mechanisms.
Oversee client suitability, investment risk disclosure, and related business processes.
Identify and address significant business, investment, and client-related risks in a timely manner.
7. Team Leadership and Organizational Development
Lead the senior management and professional teams within the wealth management division.
Establish a clear organizational structure, performance goals, and talent development mechanisms.
Develop client advisors, investment advisors, and wealth management professionals.
Foster a team culture centered on client service, professional competence, and long-term relationships.
8. Key Client and Strategic Partnerships
Represent the company in meetings with key clients, institutional investors, and strategic partners.
Establish partnerships with family offices, private banks, asset management firms, and professional service providers.
Participate in major client acquisition efforts and complex wealth management projects.
Support corporate brand building and the enhancement of industry influence.
9. Support for Senior Management and the Board
Report on wealth management business performance to the CEO, President, and Board of Directors.
Provide analysis regarding market trends, client assets, the investment environment, and business growth.
Participate in annual strategic planning, budgeting, and capital allocation discussions.
Offer strategic recommendations regarding significant business opportunities and risks.
III. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business Management, Investment Management, or a related field.
Typically requires over 20 years of experience in wealth management, asset management, private banking, investment management, or the financial services industry.
Possesses over 8 years of experience in senior management or business leadership roles.
Experience managing business operations for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Familiarity with portfolio management, asset allocation, wealth planning, and financial products.
Strong capabilities in business strategy, financial analysis, and business development.
Experience in managing large teams and providing cross-departmental leadership. Possess excellent skills in executive-level communication, negotiation, and client relationship management.
Familiar with financial industry regulations, risk management, and compliance requirements.
