Short-term Rental Co-Designer

About the Role
Chroma Home Designs is hiring a Denver-based Interior Designer to join our core team. You'll work alongside our founders to design bold, scroll-stopping short-term rental properties and assist in bringing them to life on site, from the first concept to the final styled photo.
This is a hands-on role. You'll split your time between design work and on-site execution at client properties, our warehouse, and local shops and showrooms. It's a great fit for a talented designer who loves the full process, from mood board to hanging the last piece of art.
As our team grows, this role has a clear path into design leadership, including guiding and supporting future designers.
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 / year
Schedule: Full-time
Location: Denver metro, remote-first, with up to 30% travel within Colorado

What You'll Do
Conceptual & Creative Design
Own full-property designs for short-term rentals, from concept through project completion.
Create highly photogenic interiors that balance elevated aesthetics with guest-ready functionality and outperform the local market.
Bring Chroma's signature style to every project: bold, elevated, and bespoke, tailored to the market you're designing for.
Craft cohesive design stories across every room in a property while giving each project its own distinct identity.
Design Deliverables & Execution
Develop full design packages, including presentations, mood boards, floor plans, 2D renderings, and installation instructions.
Build and manage complete design plans and layouts in DesignFiles.
Work with floor plans, architectural details, and 3D scans to design accurate, cohesive homes.
On-Site Styling & Installation
Frame and hang art, including curated gallery walls.
Source and shop in person for staging and styling items.
Visit our warehouse as needed for decor sourcing and project pulls.
Support installs with staging, styling, and final details so every property is photo-ready.
Visit client properties for walkthroughs, measurements, and install quality checks.
Collaboration & Growth
Partner closely with our founders to align designs with the operational needs of short-term rentals.
Adapt your vision to client goals, target guests, and regional property style.
Help shape Chroma's design standards and, over time, mentor and review the work of future designers.
What We're Looking For
Relevant Experience: 3+ years of interior design experience. Experience with hospitality (e.g. boutique hotels) or short-term rental design is strongly preferred.
Full-Property Portfolio: A portfolio that includes at least one full home, with real photos of completed spaces (not renderings or boards). A link to a live short-term rental listing you designed is a strong plus. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.
Aesthetic & Design DNA: A natural affinity for bold, elevated, and classy interiors. You're comfortable with deep wall colors, vibrant accents, and high-contrast styling.
Hands-On Approach: You enjoy occasional on-site work, including framing and hanging art, styling, and lifting and moving decor.
Local & Able to Travel: Based in the Denver metro, with reliable transportation for property, warehouse, and sourcing visits.
Leadership Potential: Organized, confident, and interested in growing into a role that guides other designers.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with DesignFiles (or similar), rendering tools, and mood boarding platforms.
Industry Knowledge: Understanding of short-term rental performance needs, guest flow, and photography-focused styling.
Highly Detail-Oriented: Precision with scale, proportion, visual balance, and color story.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally, this role may require the ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. With or without reasonable accommodation, you'll need to be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, stand and move for extended periods, use ladders and hand tools to hang art, and travel to properties, our warehouse, and local sources.
