As a GIS Analyst, you'll turn location data into business strategy. Using geospatial analytics, market intelligence, customer insights, and automation, you'll help guide decisions that shape our branch and ATM network, customer access strategy, market expansion, and growth opportunities across the country.
This role combines analytics, geography, technology, and business strategy. You'll work with leaders across retail banking, marketing, risk, operations, and technology to solve complex business challenges and deliver insights that influence enterprise decisions. Success requires more than technical expertise. You'll transform business questions into analytical solutions, communicate recommendations to stakeholders, and develop scalable tools that help drive smarter decisions.

What You'll Do
Drive Location Strategy
Conduct spatial analyses supporting branch, ATM, customer access, market planning, and network optimization decisions.
Evaluate market opportunities using customer behavior, demographics, competitive activity, mobility patterns, digital adoption, and other internal and external data sources.
Develop trade area, accessibility, competitive, and service coverage analyses to support expansion, relocation, consolidation, and de novo site decisions.
Translate location intelligence into actionable business recommendations and strategic insights.
Build Analytics & Automation Solutions
Develop and maintain repeatable analytical workflows using Python, SQL, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and related technologies.
Support predictive modeling, site scoring, market potential, attrition risk, and scenario-planning initiatives through spatial data preparation and analysis.
Integrate geospatial data with enterprise data warehouses, APIs, cloud-hosted datasets, and business intelligence platforms.
Identify opportunities to automate processes, improve efficiency, and scale analytical solutions.
Deliver Decision-Making Insights
Create executive-ready maps, dashboards, StoryMaps, reports, and visualizations that clearly communicate complex findings.
Translate analytical results into concise recommendations for senior leaders and business partners.
Develop self-service mapping tools and applications that enable business partners to explore location intelligence independently.
Present insights to technical and non-technical audiences, helping stakeholders understand risks, opportunities, and business impacts.
Advance Enterprise GIS Capabilities
Support enterprise geospatial platforms, hosted services, governance, security, and adoption initiatives.
Ensure geospatial data and analytical outputs meet standards for quality, privacy, compliance, and model governance.
Evaluate emerging GIS, spatial analytics, automation, and GeoAI capabilities and recommend practical applications.
Partner with cross-functional teams to define business needs, prioritize analytical work, and deliver decision-oriented insights.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
Four to five years of statistical and/or data analytics experience
Preferred Skills & Experience
3 to 5 years of professional GIS, spatial analytics, location intelligence, or business analytics experience
Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online, geodatabases, spatial analysis, and cartographic production
Advanced knowledge of Esri technologies, including Dashboards, Experience Builder, Survey123, Field Maps, and hosted feature services
Proficiency with Python for geospatial automation and analysis, including ArcPy, ArcGIS API for Python, pandas, GeoPandas, and related libraries
Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases with the ability to query, validate, and document spatial and non-spatial datasets
Experience with enterprise geodatabases, data warehouses, APIs, cloud storage, or cloud-based analytics environments
Experience developing web GIS applications, self-service mapping tools, and business-facing analytical products
Familiarity with demographic, customer, competitive, mobility, real estate, or market intelligence datasets
Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
Exposure to predictive modeling, spatial statistics, machine learning, GeoAI, network analysis, or optimization techniques
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and translate business needs into actionable analytical solutions

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $92,820.00 - $109,200.00
