RSM US LLP is seeking a Supervisor to join our Consulting Quality & Risk Management (“CQRM”) team. Part of RSM’s Office of Risk Management, the CQRM team is comprised of experienced professionals with diverse business and legal backgrounds who support our rapidly expanding consulting, audit, and tax practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a premier professional services organization while developing a deep understanding of the business and building the risk management expertise essential to supporting its continued growth.
The successful applicant’s primary responsibilities will include the following functions:
Review of professional services engagement agreements, subcontractor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, business associate agreements, access and release letters, data privacy agreements, information security agreements, reseller and referral agreements, and other related contracts and legal documents
Review of commercial and public sector requests for proposals (RFPs) and development of exceptions documents in support of engagement pursuits
Preparation of risk management plans and issues memos to identify and mitigate enhanced risks to the firm presented by the terms and conditions of the engagement agreement or RFP
Provide secondary reviews of contract reviews, exceptions documents, issues memoranda, and client communications prepared by junior team members to ensure consistency with firm policies, contracting standards, and risk management objectives
Serve as an escalation point for junior team members on complex contractual, risk, privacy, security, and public-sector contracting issues, providing guidance and recommendations before matters are elevated
Consult with client service team personnel in evaluating and responding to risk matters affecting client engagements and/or the services provided to the client
Preparation, development, and/or updates to contract templates, contracting playbooks, knowledge management articles, practice manuals and policies, and training material
Lead onboarding and training initiatives for new and junior CQRM team members, including developing and delivering training sessions, creating reference materials, providing substantive feedback on contract reviews and negotiation strategies, and serving as a subject matter resource for complex contracting and risk management matters.
Leverage firm-approved artificial intelligence and automation tools, and collaborate with team members to develop, test, and enhance AI-enabled solutions, templates, workflows, and other technology-driven resources that improve the efficiency of CQRM's contracting and risk management processes
Preference will be given to internal candidates with the requisite skills and demonstrated ability to grow.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
JD or a Master of Legal Studies
Strong research, writing, analytical, and communications skills
Ability to review and apply legal standards, rules, regulations, policies and procedures
Ability to understand and ensure compliance with firm, lines of business, and departmental policies and procedures
Ability to identify gaps in or revisions to existing operational policies and practices
Ability to apply sound professional judgement and skepticism and maintain objectivity in responding to significant risk events
Ability to adapt to change and reprioritize based on urgency, risk rating, and/or significance of matter
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with respect to internal information
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA, MBA, LLM or other relevant certification in consulting, accounting, tax, or legal profession
Prior experience working in an accounting or consulting firm, a business risk management or advisory role, or a government or commercial sector legal or procurement office or department
