Bookkeeper
Job Description
Location: Remote (EST Time Zone)
Employment Type: Part-time (minimum 20 hours/week), with potential to grow into a full-time position
Reports To: Controller
Compensation: $20–$35/hour, commensurate with experience
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role
Delaware ADR is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to assist with key accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll support. Reporting to the Controller, this individual will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records while helping to build scalable processes as the company grows. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to expand their scope and potentially grow into a full-time role within a fast-growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
• Assist with end-to-end invoicing process, ensuring timely and accurate billing
• Drive collections efforts through proactive follow-up on outstanding balances
• Process incoming deposits and reconcile discrepancies as needed
• Maintain accurate financial records by transferring invoice data from Clio to QuickBooks
Accounts Payable
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance through timely W9 collection
• Oversee invoice processing, including accurate data entry into QuickBooks and organized file management within shared drive systems
• Perform monthly credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
General Accounting Support
• Support payroll operations by tracking staff time and preparing weekly timesheets for review and approval
• Contribute to time analysis reporting to inform business decision-making
• Prepare and submit payroll data with accuracy and attention to deadlines
• Assist with the design and implementation of a streamlined expense reporting process
• Collaborate directly with the Controller on special projects, helping to build and refine accounting processes that support the company's continued growth; with an emphasis on efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
• Associate's degree, or actively working towards a degree
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with payroll, accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and a highly organized approach to work
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
• Located within the East Coast region, preferably within driving distance of Delaware
• Must be willing to undergo a background check in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal law regulations
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree with an accounting/finance focus
• Experience with budgeting and financial reporting
• Working knowledge of QuickBooks
• Experience working with a small business and/or in the legal industry
