Security Guard - Hilton Aruba Caribbean Resort & Casino

As a Security Guard / Dispatcher, you play a key role in creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests and team members. You’ll combine strong communication, quick decision-making, and exceptional service skills to monitor hotel activities, respond to security needs, coordinate communications, and help ensure every guest and team member feels safe and cared for.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The successful candidate must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Strong knowledge of the hotel’s floor plans, facilities, function rooms, emergency exits, and overall property layout, as well as a working knowledge of the surrounding area.
Ability to read and understand English sufficiently to accurately interpret guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders, safety information, and other written communications.
Strong verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with guests, team members, management, and other stakeholders.
Ability to handle guest concerns and complaints with professionalism, empathy, and a positive attitude by actively listening, understanding the situation, and taking appropriate and proactive action to resolve concerns.
Ability to remain calm, attentive, and professional when responding to security concerns, emergencies, or other situations requiring immediate attention.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Lower Vocational Education (Educacion Profesional Basico) or equivalent.
Language Skills: English basics.
Additional Language Skills: Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamento are preferred but not required.
Years of Related Experience: 0–3 years.
Systems Experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel.
Key Responsibilities
As a Security Guard / Dispatcher, you will:
Monitor life-safety systems and promptly dispatch Security Officers to requests for assistance from guests and team members.
Answer security telephone and safety hotline calls, assess the level of urgency, and respond appropriately based on priority.
Listen attentively and provide accurate, helpful information to guests and team members while maintaining a professional and service-oriented approach.
Accurately and clearly document relevant incidents, calls, and security-related information.
Maintain open and effective communication between guests, management, Security, and other hotel departments.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Director of Security based on departmental needs.
Supportive Functions
In addition to the essential functions of the position, the Security Guard / Dispatcher may:
Screen individuals entering the property and verify their purpose and authorization.
Receive, document, safeguard, and coordinate the delivery of lost and found items to Housekeeping.
Research and respond to guest inquiries regarding the status of lost and found items.
Provide guests, team members, and visitors with accurate information regarding directions, hotel facilities, operating hours, and services.
Assist with administrative and clerical tasks within the Security office as needed.
Attend required departmental meetings and training sessions.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with hotel standards.
Perform general cleaning duties as needed to support health, safety, and workplace standards.
Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor or Director of Security.
