Note: This is a vacancy for (2) Part-time faculty positions (up to 6 hours per week) starting immediately and ending by April 16th, 2026.

Fanshawe College is seeking experienced and student-focused Part-Time Professors, Industrial Maintenance / Millwright to join the Mechanical Engineering Technician – Industrial Maintenance program at the St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus.
This is an in-person teaching position based at the St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus. Successful candidates must be available to teach any time during daytime hours, Monday through Friday.
Why This Role Is Important
This program prepares students for careers in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, and mechanical systems while providing curriculum aligned with the Industrial Mechanic Millwright apprenticeship pathway. Students develop hands-on skills in machining, welding, hydraulics, pneumatics, machine repair, rigging, power transmission, electrical controls, troubleshooting, and industrial maintenance practices.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and shop-based instruction within the MIM program.
Teach students the theory and practical skills required for careers in industrial maintenance and the millwright trade.
Create a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment.
Develop and deliver learning activities, demonstrations, and assessments aligned with course outcomes.
Evaluate student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Promote industry best practices related to safety, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.
Use educational technology and Fanshawe's learning systems to support learning.
Collaborate with faculty, coordinators, technicians, and support staff to ensure a high-quality student experience.
What You’ll Bring
A valid Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (433A)
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline
Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices and mechanical systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
A demonstrated commitment to safety and safe work practices
Industrial Mechanic Millwright apprenticeship training
Hydraulics and pneumatics
Power transmission systems
Rigging and hoisting
Welding and fabrication
Machining and machine repair
Electrical and electronic controls
PLCs and industrial automation
Predictive and preventive maintenance programs
Vibration analysis and industrial troubleshooting techniques

Post-secondary, apprenticeship, or adult education teaching experience
