RN - Coordinator - Occupational Health - Full Time - 8 Hour - Days

Job Description:The Occupational Health Nurse Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing health and safety programs and services for the employees, employment candidates, physicians, and volunteers of John Muir Health (JMH). He/She observes and assesses the healthcare worker's health status with respect to job tasks and hazards. The person in this role recognizes and prevents health effects from hazardous exposures and treats minor injuries and illnesses. The Occupational Health Nurse Coordinator focuses on the promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work-related and environmental hazards.
Education/Experience/Skills Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing - Require
Bachelor of Science Nursing - Required
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), including at least 2 years of experience in Occupational Health or Employee Health.
Experience managing occupational health and workplace safety requirements in a hospital setting, including application of Federal and State regulations such as Cal/OSHA and applicable California Department of Public Health (CDPH) regulations and CDC guidelines to employee health, workplace injuries, occupational exposures, infection prevention, and return-to-work processes - Required
Knowledge and experience applying Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and reasonable accommodation principles - Preferred
Knowledge and experience with California Workers’ Compensation processes, including occupational injury management, work restrictions, and return-to-work practices - Preferred
Certifications/Licensures:
RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Registered Nursing - Required
BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association - Required
COHN Certified Occupational Health Nurse - ABOHN American Board of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. or
COHN-S Certified Occupational Health Nurse Specialist - ABOHN American Board of Occupational Health Nurses, Inc. - Required
CA Driver License - Department of Motor Vehicles, Proof of Good Driving Record, and Current Automobile Insurance - Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
Strong knowledge of State and Federal occupational health and workplace safety requirements, including Cal/OSHA and CDPH regulations, The Joint Commission standards and CDC guidelines, with the ability to apply them to employee health, workplace injuries, occupational exposures, infection prevention, and return-to-work processes within a hospital setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
Work Shift:Exempt Days (Mon-Fri) (United States of America)
Pay Range:
$86.06 - $129.08Hourly
Offer amounts are based on demonstrated/relevant experience and/or licensure.
Pay will be adjusted to the local market if hired outside of the Bay Area.
Note: Positions at JMH which are exempt (not eligible for overtime) under the level of Manager are listed as hourly for compensation purposes on this posting. The work shift will contain the word ‘exempt’ on it.
