Senior Director of Product Innovation

Role Description The Senior Director of Product Innovation is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of financial products tailored to the agricultural sector and rural clients. This role oversees end-to-end product management, from market analysis and concept development to launch, performance monitoring, and optimization. The Senior Director collaborates with cross-functional teams to align product initiatives with BNDA’s mission, regulatory requirements, risk frameworks, and profitability targets. Day-to-day activities include defining product roadmaps, prioritizing innovation projects, leading product-related research and pilot programs, and ensuring that customer feedback and data insights drive product enhancements. The role also involves mentoring product teams, coordinating with technology and operations for implementation, and representing product innovation initiatives in executive discussions and external partnerships.
Qualifications
Strong product strategy and product management skills, including experience developing and executing product roadmaps for financial or impact-focused organizations.
Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to use quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions, assess product performance, and identify growth opportunities.
Demonstrated team leadership and project management capabilities, including leading cross-functional teams, managing complex initiatives, and delivering results on time and within scope.
Proven experience in financial services, agriculture finance, or inclusive finance, with a solid understanding of rural and semi-urban customer needs.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at executive and operational levels.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Agriculture, or a related field; a master’s degree (e.g., MBA) is an asset.
Experience in product innovation, digital financial services, or fintech solutions supporting agricultural or rural markets is highly beneficial.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, demonstrating self-motivation, accountability, and cultural sensitivity.
