New Value Solutions (NVS) is seeking an experienced Technical Services Engineer. This is a customer-facing engineering position focused on power-system protection, protective relays, disturbance recorders, automation, technical support, training, and commissioning.
The Technical Services Engineer will serve as a technical interface between client and its customers, helping utilities and industrial clients successfully apply, configure, troubleshoot, and operate protection and automation products.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical support to existing and prospective customers on protective relays, disturbance recorders, and automation applications.
Assist customers with product application, configuration, installation, commissioning, and operation.
Deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, training sessions, and remote support.
Troubleshoot customer issues and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Develop application notes, technical papers, presentations, and other customer-support materials.
Assist with preparation and presentation of technical proposals.
Support Sales, Marketing, Application Engineering, and Product Development teams.
Gather customer feedback regarding product functionality, feature requirements, and market needs.
Participate in industry organizations and technical meetings such as IEEE PSRC and NASPI.
Contribute to manuals, datasheets, ordering guides, and technical documentation.
Assume project-management or supervisory responsibilities when assigned.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
8–10 years of experience working with protective relays and disturbance/fault recorders.
Strong understanding of electric power systems, protection philosophies, and industry practices.
Practical experience applying protective relays within a utility, engineering consultancy, OEM, or similar environment.
Experience with EMTP, load-flow, and short-circuit studies.
Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
Excellent technical training, presentation, writing, and communication skills.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Ability to manage several technical priorities while working remotely.
Strong organizational and computer skills.
