Job Summary:
Perform routine tissue processing, paraffin embedding, sectioning, and staining to prepare high-quality slides for pathological evaluation. Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory colleagues to support accurate analysis and the timely delivery of results.
What You'll Be Doing:
Prepare slides for microscopic evaluation by performing routine tissue processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining activities
Partner with pathologists to facilitate pathological analysis and the timely delivery of results
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology laboratory equipment
Maintain complete and accurate documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures, good documentation practices, and regulatory guidelines
Support process improvements that increase data quality, reduce costs, or improve turnaround times, including SOP updates and troubleshooting activities
Maintain laboratory inventory and a clean, organized work environment consistent with safety, quality, and 6S standards
Support laboratory or cross-functional projects, study setup coordination, and the implementation of process improvements
Ensure compliance with company procedures and all applicable local, federal, CLIA, and CAP requirements
What We Are Looking For:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required
Typically requires 2-3 years of experience in a histopathology lab or discipline
ASCP qualification or equivalent and 1 year of experience in a clinical, research, academic, or commercial/production laboratory are required
Detailed knowledge of histology techniques, specialized laboratory equipment, clinical testing procedures, and staining techniques
Knowledge of applicable laboratory testing regulations, including CLIA and CAP requirements
Ability to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and resolve process issues
Applicable certifications and licenses as required by local regulations
Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed for This Role:
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and data quality
Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills
Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with coworkers, managers, clients, and pathologists
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Commitment to laboratory safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $46,200.00 - $96,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
