Assistant Supervisor Manufacturing

The Assistant Supervisor, Manufacturing, supports production operations by leading a team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets while ensuring adherence to operational and quality standards. This role is more execution-focused and actively supports and performs hands-on production activities as needed to meet operational demands. The position reports to Manufacturing Manager or Director.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:
Support production team execution to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity cost targets.
Perform hands-on production activities as needed to maintain workflow and meet operational demands.
Reinforce adherence to operational and quality standards to ensure compliant production.
Support management of staffing, output, and on-time delivery within the assigned production area or shift.
Resolve moderately complex production and personnel issues to maintain daily operations.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, Program Management, and maintenance to resolve operational challenges.
Communicate production performance, issues, and improvement plans to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and performance feedback to production employees.
Support labor utilization, overtime control, and reduction of scrap or rework to improve performance.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Required Experience
Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in manufacturing, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 2–3 years of manufacturing experience with prior leadership or supervisory responsibility.
Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of production workflows, KPIs, labor planning, and root cause analysis.
Proficiency in manufacturing systems, KPI tracking, data analysis, and problem-solving tools. Assistant Supervisor, Manufacturing Job Description|
