As a Qualcomm Software Test Engineer, you will design, develop, create, and modify test cases and validate embedded software, cloud software, system algorithms, application software, automation, and/or specialized utility programs that launch cutting-edge, world class products. Qualcomm Software Test Engineers collaborate across various engineering teams and functions to design and implement test plans.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Test Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
1+ year of work or academic experience with Software Test or System Test, developing and automating test plans and/or tools (e.g., Source Code Control Systems, Continuous Integration Tools, and Bug Tracking Tools).
Responsibilities
Support testing efforts for XR software stack and adjacent technologies such as game/3D app development kits (Unity 3D, Unreal Engine), connectivity (USB, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 6E), and multimedia technologies (Video, Camera, Graphics, Audio, Display).
Write and execute test cases.
Develop test applications on Android, Linux, and Windows platforms.
Develop automation scripts using Python, C, and C++.
Evaluate technologies, systems, and devices through testing, logging, and analysis.
Create test environments using software and hardware tools.
Develop test procedures, execute tests, and isolate issues.
Build automation systems for test execution and result parsing.
Develop application and test content to exercise new features.
Study user experience and contribute to improving customer experience on Qualcomm multimedia solutions across ARM-based chipset products.
Maintain a strong understanding of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and multimedia technologies, including Graphics, Video, and Camera.
Required Qualifications
Experience testing applications on Windows, Linux, and Android platforms.
Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux OS concepts and tools, including batch scripting and Linux commands.
Expertise in C, C++, and Python programming.
Hands-on experience with AR/VR technologies, including: 6DOF Tracking OpenXR OpenVR WebXR
Outstanding problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work from the Qualcomm Bangalore office.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing 3D applications or games using Unity and Unreal Engine.
Knowledge of video technologies, including video encoding and decoding techniques.
Experience in data analysis, automation, and Python scripting.
Understanding of image processing and computer graphics pipelines and architecture.
Exposure to AI and Machine Learning technologies.
Knowledge of wireless transmission systems for video and gaming applications, including: IEEE 802.11ad/ay IEEE 802.11ac/ax
Familiarity with networking technologies related to wireless connectivity.
