How Will You Make an Impact?:
In this role, you will ensure the products our customers know, love, and depend on are shipped in a timely and safe manner.
A Day in the Life:
Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements while sustaining a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested.
Receive materials and/or finished goods daily. Verify the quality, type and amount of materials received are accurate and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures including room temperature (59–86 degrees F), cold-room (36-46 degrees F), and/or freezer-room (minus 4 – 23 degrees F).
Safely operate distribution equipment.
Satisfactorily complete Thermo Fisher Scientific training requirements and operate within all ISO standards pertaining to site Distribution including, but not limited to, Control of Documents and Quality Policy.
Provide occasional training and coaching to peers.
Respond to customer service and other external department inquiries regarding order requirements and/or fulfillment issues.
Operate PC applications and systems including Microsoft Excel, E-1, and SAP.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field
Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Inter-mediate computer proficiency to navigate ERP systems, Outlook, and shipping software in order to support the operation in its daily functions
Proven track record to consistently and independently follow policies and procedures, instructions, and to meet schedules
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
