Senior Systems Engineer

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC)
Essential Functions:
Serve as the Lead Systems Engineer (LSE) for assigned LTRS subsystem(s), managing issues including risk, subsystem anomalies, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) cases.
Develop out-year plans (spend plans) and provide input for Government funding to address subsystem needs.
Provide project integration support from contract award through the final transition of Third-Party Developer (TPD) systems into the SFRC OM&S baseline.
Support the development of acquisition documentation (SOO, SOW, PWS) for TPD procurements and assist in Request for Proposal (RFP) development.
Develop high-level engineering project plans and assist Space Force Project Managers, Internal Project Managers, and Third-Party Project Managers with project schedule development.
Define and write requirements for TPD contracts based on capabilities and operating concepts in support of SLD30.
Coordinate with Government customers and internal SFRC stakeholders.
Apply risk management principles to identify, assess, plan, and mitigate subsystem and LTRS risks.
Support or manage LTRS Risk Management Working Groups and Risk and Opportunity Management Boards (ROMBs).
Serve as an Integration Lead assigned to acquisition projects to oversee the integration and transition of new or modified systems ensuring they meet SFRC OM&S standards.
Manage and execute systems engineering processes to ensure continuity across the SFRC.
Assist in developing training tools and documentation for transitioning systems.
Assist Engineering Managers in prioritizing tasks to support mission needs.

Minimum Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field. Master’s degree preferred.
8+ years of systems engineering experience or related engineering experience.
Fundamental knowledge of engineering lifecycle and systems engineering processes. CSEP Certification is preferred.
Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo) is preferred.
Experience with Project Scheduling software such as MSProject, JIRA, or others. PMI certification is preferred.
Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or weekends to support mission requirements.
Willingness to travel.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
Valid U.S. Driver’s License.
Compensation Details:
$130,000 - $135,000 annually
