What you’ll do in the role:
Morgan Stanley Services Group Inc. is seeking an Associate, Data & Technology in Seattle, Washington. to build, deploy, and support trade software systems, analytical tools, and scalable trading engine infrastructure. Partner with trading, sales, operations, and senior management to understand key system issues in the trade lifecycle and propose technical solutions. Gather and analyze large sets of data through various systems and implement complex mathematical calculations. Utilize statistical and machine learning tools to analyze market data and identify trading and operational efficiency opportunities. Propose changes in trading systems based on data analysis and simulation results. Utilize quantitative skills, programming skills, and experience implementing mathematical models in SQL, Java, bash, and Python. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Requires a Master’s in Technical Entrepreneurship & Management, or a related field of study.
Requires two (2) years of experience in the position offered or two (2) years as an Associate, Data Engineer, Data Analyst, or a related occupation.
Requires two (2) years of experience with the following skills:
* Writing and interpreting queries using SQL and Python;
* Supporting a 24x7 technical production environment using robust incident response protocols for financial data integrity and compliance;
* Implementing DevOps practices and tools, including Octopus, JIRA, and Confluence;
* Developing scripts, automation, and continuous improvement solutions using bash, Terraform, GitHub and Docker;
* Orchestrating and managing data pipelines leveraging Apache NiFi and Apache Airflow;
* Working with cloud platforms and services, including Snowflake and AWS with S3, IAM, Athena, SNS, and EC2;
* Administering and supporting Linux and UNIX based operating systems;
* Ensuring security and access controls for sensitive financial information across distributed environments;
* Conducting regular audits and maintaining documentation to meet financial regulatory standards.

Salary range for the position: $115,000 - $140,000 /Yr. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
