If you enjoy solving complex problems and seeing the impact of your work across Auckland’s wastewater network, this is an opportunity to put your engineering expertise to work where it really matters.
This is a varied engineering role that will see you working across wastewater network planning, operational challenges and infrastructure improvements. You’ll be involved in everything from scoping future works and delivering capital renewals to optimising maintenance programmes and responding to network incidents.
Working closely with our operations, development, planning and project teams, you will:
Analyse fault and network data to identify opportunities to improve performance and optimise maintenance programmes
Scope and support capital renewal works, ensuring wastewater network assets meet current design requirements and standards
Review and monitor critical infrastructure work undertaken by internal teams and external contractors
Respond to and manage wastewater network incidents, working collaboratively to resolve issues and minimise disruption
Monitor environmental compliance and performance against customer service targets and KPIs
As part of the role, you’ll also participate in an after-hours on-call roster when required.

You’ll be a practical and confident engineer who enjoys getting to the heart of a problem and working with others to find the right solution. You’ll be comfortable balancing technical requirements with operational priorities and building strong relationships across a range of teams and stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
A bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification
Experience in wastewater networks, with knowledge across areas such as network planning, operations and maintenance and civil construction
Project management experience, with strong planning and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to work across technical and operational teams
A full New Zealand driver licence
