Your Role as Cyber Security Engineer
The Cyber Security Engineer plays a critical role in protecting and enhancing Wesley Mission Queensland's cyber security environment. Working within the Hybrid, Cloud & Security Team, this hands-on technical role is responsible for designing, implementing and managing security technologies and controls across cloud, identity, endpoint, network and monitoring environments.
In this role you will also:
Manage and optimise cyber security technologies across cloud, endpoint, identity, network and infrastructure environments.
Monitor, investigate and respond to security threats, vulnerabilities and cyber security incidents.
Conduct vulnerability assessments and drive remediation activities to reduce organisational risk.
Deliver cyber security projects and initiatives that strengthen security capabilities and resilience.
Troubleshoot complex security issues and implement effective, long-term solutions.
Collaborate with technology teams to identify security improvements, provide technical expertise and promote best-practice cyber security standards.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications in Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience, with relevant security certifications highly regarded.
Experience in a Cyber Security Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer or similar technical role within a complex enterprise environment.
Strong hands-on experience implementing and supporting enterprise security technologies, including cloud security, EDR, SIEM, IAM, Microsoft 365/Azure, Intune and network security solutions.
Proven capability in vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident investigation, security hardening and technical remediation across enterprise environments.
Excellent problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with experience troubleshooting complex issues, automating processes and delivering successful security outcomes.
Essential Requirements
