Gen AI Engineer (C/Pro*C with GitHub Copilot)

The Gen AI Engineer will improve developer productivity and engineering quality by operationalizing GitHub Copilot Business/Enterprise across the software development lifecycle. The role focuses on secure, governed Copilot adoption for C and Pro*C development in Linux/Unix legacy environments, with supporting GenAI services on Azure where needed. This is an office-based role in Hyderabad, five days a week. It is limited to product development and does not involve direct access to or processing of protected health information, personally identifiable information, or secured or confidential client data.
Responsibilities
Define enterprise Copilot usage patterns, prompt standards and governance. Maintain repository-backed prompt files, custom instructions and reusable agent-like workflows for bug fixes, brownfield enhancements, refactoring, test generation and security remediation. Design guided prompts that ask one question at a time and require confirmation before code changes; integrate Copilot into Visual Studio and GitHub workflows.
Establish quality and security guardrails requiring tests, reviews and automated scanning before AI-assisted code is merged. Measure adoption and outcomes using Copilot usage data, review cycle time, defect proxies and security findings, while clearly communicating measurement limitations. Partner with platform, security, compliance and product teams.
Contribute to and review C/Pro*C code, embedded SQL and database interactions. Debug and enhance poorly documented legacy systems; trace dependencies across modules, scripts, database objects and interfaces while preserving existing behavior. Work with builds, compilation, runtime diagnostics, logs and batch jobs on Linux/Unix.
Where needed, build Azure OpenAI workflows for tasks such as PR summarization and guided debugging, using prompt contracts, tool calling and evaluation for reliability, cost and safety. Build grounded RAG pipelines and enterprise knowledge connectors when needed.
Required: 5–7 years of software engineering experience delivering production systems with testing, reviews and CI/CD; professional GitHub Copilot experience; hands-on C and Pro*C experience in Linux/Unix legacy codebases; GitHub and PR-based delivery skills; secure coding and automated security checks; Azure deployment and secure-configuration fundamentals; and the ability to turn requirements into designs and production-ready implementations.

Copilot administration and adoption reporting; developer tooling, IDE extensions, internal CLIs or PR automation; GitHub Advanced Security and merge controls; Azure OpenAI, prompt evaluation or RAG; and telemetry analytics using SQL, data modeling or Power BI.
