About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our team on a contract basis. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of scalable and efficient backend systems. The ideal candidate will have over six years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance backend applications and microservices. You will be instrumental in building robust REST APIs, optimizing database interactions, and integrating external systems to enhance our product offerings. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in an Agile environment and is passionate about delivering quality software solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in Java backend development.
Proficiency in Spring Boot and related Java frameworks.
Strong experience with microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
Solid understanding of SQL and relational database management systems.
Experience with Hibernate or JPA for ORM.
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Java.
Create and optimize REST APIs and microservices to support various client applications.
Collaborate with front-end developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deploying backend services.
Optimize database queries and backend processes to improve application performance and efficiency.
Integrate applications with external systems and third-party APIs to extend functionality.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to ensure system stability and reliability.
Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and agile ceremonies to ensure continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
