The Opportunity
Love variety, being out and about, working with people and getting stuck in to make things happen?
This is a role where you’ll be right in the middle of our growing orchard operation, working alongside the team to keep the day-to-day operation running smoothly.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, practical and organised — someone who doesn’t mind rolling up their sleeves, getting out and about across the operation, talking to people and taking ownership of whatever needs doing.
You’ll have the opportunity to shape this role and make it your own. While you’ll have an office as your base, you’ll enjoy a varied role that combines administration with regular involvement across the orchard operations.
Your days will be varied and could include:
Recruiting, coordinating and onboarding seasonal staff
Running health and safety inductions
Getting out on the orchard to support staff and managers
Managing housing and property maintenance
Managing compliance and food safety audits
Ordering supplies and keeping the operation well equipped
Coordinating inspections, contractors and vehicle maintenance
Supporting day-to-day logistics and problem-solving
You’ll be someone who sees what needs doing and gets on with it. You’ll be comfortable moving between the office, orchard, accommodation and other operational areas, balancing administration with practical support across a busy operation that runs 7 days a week. While the operation runs year-round, the role itself is structured around agreed working hours, with flexibility required when needed.
No two days will be the same — and that’s exactly what makes this role so rewarding.
About You
You’re organised and capable, but you’re also practical, approachable and hands-on. You enjoy being busy, working with people and finding solutions.
You’ll be confident working independently, comfortable juggling competing priorities and happy to get involved wherever you’re needed.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
Experience in recruitment, workforce coordination, property management or a similar operational role — horticulture experience is a bonus
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with staff, contractors, suppliers and community networks
A practical, solutions-focused approach and a keen eye for detail
Confidence using Microsoft Office and other administrative systems
A full New Zealand driver’s licence, as you’ll be moving between locations across the orchard
A hands-on, can-do attitude and a willingness to get involved and tackle whatever the day brings
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes ownership, gets things done and isn’t afraid to get your hands dirty.
