Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (technopreneurship) - School of IT

[What the role is]
As academic staff, you will play an active role in the academic, professional and personal development of your learners to prepare them for work & life. You will mentor PET and CET learners in transforming IT solutions into viable startup ventures, bridging technical innovation with business success.
[What you will be working on]
Curriculum & Teaching
Design, evaluate and enhance the Technopreneurship curriculum with a strong technical core in software engineering, applied AI and cloud, co-developing content with industry partners.
Teach and supervise PET and CET courses, including professional short courses in areas such as full-stack development, solution architecture and applied AI.
Mentor learners through the full build cycle, from requirements and architecture to development, testing and handover to clients.
Technical Project Delivery
Lead and guide hands-on IT product development with learners, taking projects from architecture and solution design through build, deployment and client handover.
Set technical direction and review architecture, code quality and delivery, so that solutions are production-ready and fit for client use.
Bring current engineering practice across front-end, back-end, full-stack, cloud and generative/agentic AI into student projects.
Industry Collaboration
Work with industry partners and SMEs to source real problem statements and shape them into deliverable student projects.
Plan, lead and manage IT project development with industry and SMEs through to client adoption.
Connect learners to industry and commercialisation opportunities where these strengthen the project outcome.
[What we are looking for]
Essential
At least 5 years of experience in IT roles with hands-on software development and delivery.
Relevant qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related technical fields.
Strong technical background across software development (front-end, back-end, full-stack) and solution architecture.
Proficiency in traditional AI and generative/agentic AI.
Proficiency in cloud technologies.
Demonstrated experience building products end to end, from architecture and solution design to build, deployment and handover to clients.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect effectively with diverse learners and industry clients.
Preferred
Track record as a product manager or technical lead who has taken products from zero to client delivery.
Experience owning the full delivery lifecycle: architecture, solutioning, build and handover to clients.
Prior teaching or mentoring experience in software engineering or product development.
Hands-on, delivery-focused approach.
