Summary-
We are looking for a part-time friendly and customer-focused Server to join our team at 1917 Restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding service to our guests. We're seeking someone with a positive attitude, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to multitask, with a desire to learn and think creatively. Responsibilities include performing various tasks as directed by the supervisor and assisting with any duties within the Restaurant/Winery to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Current duties may be changed if the job requires and/or additional duties may be assigned if necessary.
Greet and escort customers to their tables.
Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies).
Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses.
Inform customers about the day’s specials.
Up-sell additional products wine etc. when appropriate.
Take accurate food and drinks orders.
Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff.
Serve food and drink orders.
Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems.
Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area.
Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning.
Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes to the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties).
Follow all relevant health department regulations.
Provide excellent customer service to guests.
Attentiveness and patience for customers.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Active listening and effective communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications-
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Proven work experience as a Server, Waiter or Waitress is required.
Must be able to work Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Technical Skills: Basic math skills.
Must be Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certified.
Must have food handlers’ certificate upon hire.
Flexibility: Must be willing to work weekends.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 40 pounds.
Industry Knowledge: Prior experience in food and beverage.
Hygiene Standards: Must adhere to proper hygiene and cleanliness practices at all times.
