About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and hands-on technology leader to provide end-to-end technology leadership for DBS’s Lending platforms, spanning engineering strategy, architecture, modernisation, delivery and operational resilience. The role provides technical leadership across Credit Origination, Credit Processing, Loan Servicing and Lending ecosystem platforms supporting both Institutional Banking Group and Consumer Banking Group franchises.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Engineering & Technology Leadership
Lead the architecture, design, development and delivery of strategic Lending platform supporting customer acquisition, pre letter of offer, credit review, post-letter of offer, workflow automation, servicing and operational processes.
Bring deep engineering credibility, with the ability to engage at source-code, application-design and solution-architecture level when required, while leading through senior engineering and delivery leaders.
Define platform technology strategy and engineering roadmaps aligned to IBGT and business objectives.
Work closely with business, operations, credit risk and product teams to define future-state lending capabilities.
Drive platform modernisation initiatives leveraging cloud-native technologies, microservices, APIs, event-driven architectures and enterprise integration patterns.
Lead complex technical decision-making and provide guidance on architecture evolution, technical debt management and platform investment priorities. Ensure scalability, resilience, security, maintainability and performance.
Ensure solutions comply with technology risk, cyber security, regulatory and data governance requirements.
Drive process simplification across credit origination and servicing journeys. Work towards establishing cross-team alignment.
Ensure platform solutions adequately support credit policy, risk controls, workflow governance and regulatory obligations.
Define technology direction for operational, management and regulatory reporting capabilities supporting the end-to-end lending lifecycle.
AI, Agentic AI & Innovation
Lead the design and implementation of GenAI and Agentic AI solutions for Lending platforms, to improve customer experience, productivity, platform intelligence and operational efficiency.
Partner with business and operations teams to identify high-value AI use cases in the Loans space and accelerate industrialisation of successful experiments.
Drive adoption of enterprise AI capabilities including LLM platforms, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, knowledge management platforms and intelligent workflow orchestration.
People Leadership
Build a strong engineering culture centred on accountability, innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
Attract, recruit and retain high-performing technology professionals.
Create an environment where engineers can balance innovation, experimentation and delivery excellence.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience & Leadership competencies
Minimum 10 years of technology experience with substantial hands-on software engineering and application development experience.
Proven track record leading software development teams and engineering organisations in banking or financial services.
Extensive experience as both a software developer and developer lead across enterprise-scale systems.
Experience delivering large-scale mission-critical platforms supporting customer-facing or operational banking functions.
Strong understanding of banking technology controls, risk management, cybersecurity and regulatory expectations.

Technical Skills
Strong experience in enterprise application architecture and solution design. Ability to review source code at a detailed technical level.
Deep hands-on development experience in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and API development.
Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, Kafka, messaging platforms and enterprise integration patterns.
Experience working with cloud-native platforms, containers, OpenShift or equivalent cloud technologies.
Strong knowledge of databases, data architecture and distributed systems.
Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD, test automation and modern software engineering practices.
Experience in designing resilient, scalable and cost-effective enterprise solutions.
Experience with integrating lending platforms with core banking, credit bureaus, CRM platforms, Digital channels, Regulatory reporting systems etc.
Experience delivering AI-enabled solutions, with exposure to Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies preferred.
Education
Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
