DBA Sênior - (SQL Server)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a DBA Sênior - (SQL Server) based in Brazil.
The Senior Database Administrator will help ensure the availability, performance, security, and stability of critical database environments.
You will work primarily with SQL Server while supporting a broader ecosystem that includes MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
The role combines hands-on database administration with performance tuning, monitoring, incident management, and operational governance.
You will support highly critical and high-availability environments serving internal and external technology stakeholders.
A strong focus on proactive monitoring, query optimization, change management, and operational health will be essential to the role.
You will collaborate closely with technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders in a structured and agile environment.
This is an opportunity for an experienced DBA to take ownership of mission-critical environments and contribute to both ongoing operations and new technology projects.
Accountabilities
Administer and support critical relational and non-relational database environments, with a primary focus on SQL Server.
Support production environments across ongoing operations and new technology projects, ensuring availability and operational continuity.
Monitor database health, performance, capacity, and availability, identifying potential issues before they affect business operations.
Analyze and optimize queries and database workloads to improve performance and efficiency.
Manage high-availability database environments and support SQL Server Always On configurations.
Use monitoring and observability tools such as Zabbix and Grafana to identify performance, availability, and infrastructure issues.
Establish and maintain appropriate database monitoring indicators and alerts based on availability and performance requirements.
Manage production changes through established ITSM processes, including change requests, planning, approvals, implementation, and follow-up.
Open and manage technical support cases with database technology vendors, conducting follow-up and escalating issues when necessary.
Maintain appropriate governance over database environments, taking ownership of their operational health, performance, and reliability.
Collaborate with technology and cross-functional teams to plan and execute database-related activities.
Contribute to agile methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives within database operations.
Apply a proactive, hands-on approach to troubleshooting, planning, and operational improvements.
Requirements
Significant professional experience administering relational and non-relational databases, particularly SQL Server.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and/or MongoDB environments.
Proven experience administering critical, high-availability database environments.
Strong experience with database query analysis and performance tuning.
Practical experience with SQL Server Always On.
Experience using database monitoring and observability tools such as Zabbix and Grafana.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and their application in technology environments.
Experience working with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and processes.
Experience managing production changes, including change requests, approvals, implementation, and post-change follow-up.
Experience opening and managing support cases with technology vendors, including escalation when required.
Ability to identify appropriate database monitoring requirements to support availability, performance, and operational health.
Strong sense of ownership and accountability for critical technology environments.
Hands-on, proactive approach with strong planning and activity-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and teams across the organization.
Experience working in complex production environments where reliability and availability are critical.
Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL is advantageous.
Professional certifications in Oracle, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server are desirable.
Experience with cloud environments, particularly AWS, is a plus.
Knowledge of Oracle Data Guard and SQL Server Always On is advantageous.
Knowledge of backup and restore processes using RMAN is a plus.
Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is desirable.
