Your role at a glance
The role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and operation of IT infrastructure across servers, networks, and cloud environments supporting data center and enterprise systems.
This role requires advanced technical expertise and strong architectural design capability to ensure infrastructure solutions meet business, operational, and security requirements. The engineer will play a critical role in shaping the infrastructure architecture, overseeing project execution, and making key technical decisions to deliver stable, scalable, and efficient systems.
Beyond day-to-day operations, the role is also accountable for driving continuous improvement, ensuring system reliability, and aligning all infrastructure initiatives with Global IS standards and organizational objectives.
What we are looking for
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation, and management of server, network, and cloud infrastructure—particularly Hyper-V virtualization and Microsoft Azure environments—to meet technical and functional requirements.
Design and manage secure network environments integrating Palo Alto firewalls, Aruba switches, routers, and Wi-Fi, ensuring network reliability and strong data protection.
Build and maintain high-availability, scalable server environments using Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) and Hyper-V clustering technologies.
Manage and support telephony (VoIP) systems within the data center environment.
Design and implement hybrid infrastructures that integrate on-premises and cloud-based systems.
Perform security hardening, incident response, patching, and performance tuning to ensure reliability and compliance with internal and external standards.
Ensure all infrastructure design, deployment, and operations comply with Global IS architecture blueprints and security guidelines.
Collaborate closely with Global IS teams to maintain consistency and standardization across regional and global environments.
Plan and lead infrastructure projects, including requirements gathering, vendor coordination, implementation, and rollout.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill development.
Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure efficiency and resiliency through proactive architectural enhancements.
Knowledge and Attributes:
In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration, including Hyper-V virtualization, clustering, and storage management.
Experience in managing Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios, CheckMK) and system health monitoring.
Strong understanding of routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP and experience designing VPN and hybrid connectivity.
Required expertise in network design, implementation, and operations; experience with Aruba switching and Palo Alto firewalls is preferred.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with AWS or GCP is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills across network, server, and virtualization layers.
Ability to prepare technical documentation, including design diagrams, operation manuals, and implementation reports.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional and multicultural teams.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese preferred.
Academic Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Candidates must have hands-on experience with Hyper-V and Azure. Experience with Palo Alto and Aruba solutions is highly desirable.
Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Aruba Certified Switching Professional (ACSP), or equivalent are highly desirable.
