Role Description The Cyber Security Consultant - Trainer is a part-time, remote role responsible for designing and delivering high-quality training in cybersecurity domains to learners at various career stages. Day-to-day tasks include planning and conducting virtual training sessions, creating and updating course materials and lab exercises, and demonstrating security concepts through practical, hands-on examples. The role involves mentoring learners, reviewing assignments and projects, and providing constructive feedback to help them develop job-ready skills. The consultant-trainer will also collaborate with the academy team to align content with industry standards, participate in curriculum improvements, and occasionally contribute to webinars, workshops, or guest lectures on emerging security topics.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in core cybersecurity concepts, including Cybersecurity and Information Security, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to diverse audiences.
Practical experience in Network Security and Application Security, covering secure architecture, hardening, vulnerability assessment, and common attack vectors.
Hands-on skills in Malware Analysis or related threat analysis practices, including familiarity with tools, techniques, and safe lab environments.
Experience delivering technical training or workshops, with skills in curriculum design, instructional methodologies, and learner assessment.
Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, OSCP, or similar) are highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, manage part-time schedules, and use online training platforms and collaboration tools.
Strong communication, presentation, and mentoring skills, with a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction.
