About the role
The Financial Analyst provides financial and commercial support across HammondCare Foundation & Innovation, Healthcare & Hospitals and strategic capital development initiatives.
The role is responsible for the financial management of the HammondCare Foundation ($3M budgeted revenue), including month-end activities, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, analysis and process improvement. The role also supports strategic financial planning activities including business case development, financial modelling, investment analysis and executive reporting.
The role is instrumental in gathering data, planning, defining scope and executing projects. The role ensures business requirements are accurately captured from the outset and consistently aligned with project objectives and desired outcomes.
This is a permanent part-time role 3 days per week (22.8 hours) based at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities.
Key Responsibilities include
Foundation Finance Support
Own month-end financial processes for HammondCare Foundation including journals, accruals and reporting.
Prepare monthly management reports, variance analysis and commentary.
Support the Head of Foundation with financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.
Provide financial insight and analysis to assist operational and strategic decision making.
Monitor financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
Support grant acquittals and donor fund reporting as required.
Drive continuous improvement in Foundation finance processes and reporting.
Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis
Support coordination and preparation of annual budgets in WorkDay Adaptive Planning across Health and Foundation portfolios.
Assist with rolling forecasts in WorkDay Adaptive Planning and long-term capital planning.
Produce financial analysis, trend reporting and scenario modelling.
Analyse data to provide meaningful insights into performance drivers and financial outcomes.
Simplify complex information and translate technical jargon into clear language accessible to all team members.
Leverage data insights to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
Gather, validate, and document comprehensive business requirements.
Model business processes to identify and capitalize on opportunities for improvement.
Reporting and Performance Insights
Prepare KPI reporting across Health, Foundation and Innovation portfolios.
Support health activity reporting including NWAU analysis and performance monitoring.
Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and strategic projects.
Support reporting requirements for key funding arrangements and strategic initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
Develop strong working relationships with the Head of Foundation, capital team, business leaders and finance stakeholders.
Act as a trusted financial adviser providing timely and accurate information.
Present financial information in a clear and meaningful manner to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
About You
Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.
At least 2-3 year’s practical experience in a similar corporate role
Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related discipline.
CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification.
Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting.
Strong financial modelling and advanced Excel skills.
Experience preparing management reports and providing financial insights.
High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Desirable:
Experience in healthcare, aged care or not-for-profit sectors.
Experience supporting fundraising, grants or Foundation activities.
Exposure to capital business case development and investment analysis.
Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.
Experience with Power Query, Power BI or reporting aut
