Staff Engineer

We are looking for a Staff Engineer - Backend to join a high-calibre engineering team building and scaling backend systems. This is a senior individual contributor role for engineers with strong backend expertise, deep technical ownership, and experience working on complex engineering problems. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with the Director of Engineering and/or CTO and have significant influence on backend architecture, engineering practices, and technical direction.
Responsibilities:
Design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems and services.
Drive technical architecture and engineering decisions across backend systems.
Solve complex problems involving distributed systems, scalability, reliability, performance, and system design.
Take end-to-end ownership of critical backend initiatives.
Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and other engineers to define and execute technical strategy.
Requirements:
8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong and proven expertise in Backend Engineering.
Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance.
Experience designing and building large-scale, production-grade backend systems.
Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and drive them to completion.
Strong architectural thinking with the ability to make pragmatic technical decisions.
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of engineering excellence and technical depth.
