Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manager Information Technology to join our Design Eng Processes team - CAT IT Division.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN
This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule.
Shift Timing: 01:00-10:00PM IST

The Information Technology Manager role has ownership of the main support and execute functions for the Enterprise Applications department within Caterpillar IT. This includes accountability for support metrics, management of contracts with strategic vendors, and leadership over a global Caterpillar team responsible for the delivery of these services. The application portfolio in question includes multiple instances of SAP, Manufacturing, Order to Delivery and pricing applications, among others. This is a critical role that helps ensure our end users experience a well-equipped, efficient, and simple touchpoint to support. Further, this role owns the Continuous Improvement journey for the department, with programs that drive toward improving automation, monitoring, and analytic capabilities.
Job Duties:
Own and drive all incidents, service tasks, problem tickets and system optimization for operations portfolio, ensuring delivery against commitments, SLAs, and outcomes.
Establish, monitor, and continuously improve standard work; ensure progress, risks, and dependencies are communicated effectively to stakeholders and leadership.
Manage and develop a multi-disciplinary organization delivering business and technical solutions, including process functionality, technical capability, and automation.
Partner with business units and decision makers to support day-to-day operations, incident/problem resolution, and continuous service improvement.
Implement and govern common operating procedures, controls, and metrics to strengthen quality, compliance, and operational resilience.
Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing IT teams, foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Execute multiple priorities & business requirements. Develops solutions that best meet the needs of the enterprise, with options to meet differentiated business capabilities as needed.
Develops & manages IT budget for area of accountability.
Delivers highly available, leading IT services through best-in-class service level management practices with the ability to flex with changing business demands.
What You Will Have:
Organizational Leadership: Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
Functional and/or Technical SAP knowledge
Gen AI Assisted Development or Support: Practical experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (such as GitHub Copilot or automated agent workflows) to accelerate application development or support, cost or effort reduction, or support optimization. Demonstrated experience with AI tools
Experience managing contracts and vendor relationships
A Lean or Continuous Improvement background.
An ability to translate between technical and business language, creating a bridge between the support organization and the Caterpillar business they serve.
Experience as a leader in the IT space.

Directly lead IT Managers, Technology Specialists, Information Systems Specialists, Business Managers, and application/technical/operations teams within the division; drive performance management, coaching, succession planning, and a culture of collaboration and accountability.
Additional Duties
Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
Education/Experience: Requires a relevant computer science masters or graduate degree and 15 plus years of progressively complex Information Service experience including staff and supervisory assignments in Information Services and related areas. Requires general understanding of basic business operations including one or more of the following: general business processes, technical infrastructure, application development and support of major projects, and engineering functional applications. The incumbent must have ability to provide strategic direction for effectively managing staff, budgets, business plans, project plans and developing 2-5-year plans on Information Services. Requires ability to work with diversified departments along with effective oral and written communications skills. The incumbent must have a strong customer focus and business knowledge. The position also requires to work efficiently with integration partners, technology vendors, and managed service partners.
