Finance Business Partner

Job Summary:
Responsible for the preparation of complex and interpretive financial analyses and reports. Supports the annual budget process, expense and/or staffing forecasts and statistical reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepares complex financial analyses and reports for department management.
Prepares analyses, reports, and special studies for management.
Business partners with organizational unit(s) to develop annual budgets, expense and staffing forecasts, and statistical reporting.
Prepares and consolidates financial data statistical reporting, including financial performance, variance explanations, and cost analysis.
Coaches or leads less-experienced Financial Analysts.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join our Powergen team in Scoresby, VIC.
This is a permanent role supporting our APAC Powergen business, working across a growing and increasingly complex portfolio of customers, deals and projects.
Powergen is experiencing significant growth, making this an exciting time to join the business. As the business expands, this role will help provide the financial and commercial support needed to manage that growth effectively and sustainably.

You will work alongside business leaders, sales and project teams to understand financial performance, support commercial decisions and develop clearer insight into the risks and opportunities across the Powergen portfolio.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Partner with business leaders across Powergen to provide financial insight, performance reporting and commercial decision support.
Execute and consolidate the monthly forecasting process, developing a clear view of performance, key assumptions, risks and opportunities across the business.
Provide Finance support across the deal portfolio, including pricing, margin analysis, commercial terms and financial assessment of opportunities, with particular focus on medium and selected large opportunities.
Support the development of consistent commercial governance and fit-for-purpose financial review across the deal portfolio.
Develop clearer views of customer and account profitability to support commercial and resource decisions.
Support project financial performance through project risk, costing and margin-at-completion analysis, helping identify emerging issues and opportunities early.
Support post-project reviews to capture commercial lessons and improve future pricing, project execution and financial outcomes.
Contribute to continuous improvement in financial analysis, reporting and data, including the practical use of new tools and technology to improve efficiency and insight.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Strong experience in Finance Business Partnering, Commercial Finance, FP&A or a similar commercially focused finance role.
Demonstrated capability across forecasting, planning, performance management and financial modelling.
Experience supporting complex deals, contracts, projects, customer profitability or project-based margin analysis.
Strong analytical capability and the ability to turn financial and operational information into clear, practical insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across commercial, operational, project and Finance teams.
Experience in manufacturing, distribution, power generation, data centres, industrial services or another project-intensive environment will be highly regarded.
Experience with revenue recognition or SAP transformation would be beneficial but is not essential.
Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline. CPA, CA or similar professional qualification is preferred.
