Senior Software Engineer - Backend (GO)

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to design and build scalable backend systems that power Android-first mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong backend engineering expertise, experience supporting mobile applications, and a passion for building high-performance, reliable distributed systems that operate efficiently under constrained network conditions.
You will work closely with Android developers and cross-functional teams to build APIs and backend services that enable seamless mobile experiences, including offline synchronization, scalability, and high availability.
Responsibilities:
Build and own backend services powering Native Android applications and offline-first workflows.
Partner with mobile engineers to design reliable mobile-to-cloud APIs and synchronization mechanisms to cloud APIs and synchronization mechanisms.
Drive backend decisions around scalability, reliability, performance, consistency, and observability.
Own backend components from architecture through deployment, monitoring, and production support.
Participate in API and data-model design with mobile, architecture, and product teams.
Support UAT, phased rollouts, production releases, and time-sensitive delivery milestones.
Requirements:
4-7 years of hands-on backend engineering experience building production-grade services and APIs.
Strong programming experience in Go (Golang), with solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and software engineering principles.
Experience designing high-performance and scalable backend services.
Strong understanding of REST/gRPC APIs, API design, authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication.
Experience supporting offline-first and intermittently connected applications, including synchronization, conflict resolution, idempotency, retries, and eventual consistency.
Strong experience with databases, caching, key-value stores, and messaging/event-driven systems.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, fault tolerance, scalability, and reliability.
Experience handling high transaction volumes and large datasets.
Strong understanding of observability, including logging, metrics, tracing, and monitoring.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work closely withMobile/Android, Architecture, Product, and DevOps/Cloud teams.
Good to Have:
Experience with GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, or similar messaging systems.
Experience designing mobile synchronization systems, including delta sync, batching, and background synchronization.
Experience optimizing APIs for mobile network constraints, including payload optimization and compression.
Experience with backend performance testing, profiling, and capacity planning.
Experience in retail, logistics, field service, or enterprise applications.
