Senior Staff Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Staff Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of hands-on software development experience, with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS. This role requires someone who can contribute to complex engineering initiatives, drive technical solutions, work across distributed systems, and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, highly available backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
Architect and implement microservices-based applications and distributed systems.
Develop clean, maintainable, scalable, and high-performance code.
Design and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
Work extensively with AWS cloud services to build and deploy scalable applications.
Participate in architecture and technical design discussions.
Identify technical challenges and provide robust and scalable solutions.
Drive engineering best practices around coding standards, design patterns, testing, security, and performance.
Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
Mentor senior engineers and contribute to technical decision-making.
Review code and ensure adherence to engineering and architectural standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of development, deployment, and monitoring processes.
Requirements:

Strong hands-on expertise in Core Java.
Excellent experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
Strong experience designing and developing microservices architecture.
Hands-on experience building and integrating REST APIs.
Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based application development.
Good understanding of distributed systems and scalable architectures.
Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and data structures.
Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Good to Have:
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with AWS ECS/EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudWatch, or similar AWS services.
Knowledge of Kafka/event-driven architecture.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with system design and high-scale distributed applications.
Knowledge of observability, logging, monitoring, and performance optimization.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
