Lead Data Analyst

About Position:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Analyst with strong expertise in healthcare data analytics, source-to-target mapping, data profiling, and cloud-based analytics platforms. The ideal candidate will play a key role in driving business insights, data quality initiatives, and analytics enablement across complex healthcare datasets, with a primary focus on claims, provider, member, and financial data.

What You'll Do:
Perform detailed data analysis and profiling on large healthcare datasets including claims, provider, member, vision, dental, and financial data.
Create and maintain Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents to ensure data traceability, consistency, and accuracy.
Define business rules, data definitions, transformation logic, and enterprise data standards.
Identify data anomalies, quality issues, trends, and inconsistencies and drive resolution activities.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable analytical solutions.
Define and manage data intake processes for onboarding new datasets and business domains.
Act as a liaison between business users, SMEs, data engineering teams, and data science teams.
Develop and validate complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, analysis, and reconciliation.
Work with large-scale datasets using Azure Databricks, Spark, Python, and SQL.
Validate and support data pipelines developed by engineering teams.
Ensure data quality, data governance, lineage, and compliance standards are maintained across the platform.
Design and implement validation frameworks, reconciliation processes, and quality controls.
Support reporting, forecasting, operational analytics, and AI/ML data initiatives.
Document data lineage, transformation logic, metadata, and business glossary assets.
Partner with engineering teams to ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions.
Expertise You'll Bring:
8-12 years of experience in Data Analysis, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Engineering environments.
Strong expertise in healthcare data domains including Claims, Provider, Member, Vision, Dental, and Financial datasets.
Advanced SQL development skills including query optimization, data validation, reconciliation, and performance analysis.
Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, validation, and data quality activities.
Experience creating Source-to-Target Mapping (STM) documents and data lineage documentation.
Strong understanding of data profiling, root cause analysis, data quality management, and governance practices.
Experience working with Azure cloud services and modern enterprise data platforms.
Knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, dimensional modeling, and data warehousing principles.
Experience supporting Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, and AI/ML programs.
Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and convert business needs into actionable technical solutions.
Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strong ownership mindset and ability to lead data analysis initiatives independently.
